Thank you for reaching out to Mend Center for Psychotherapy.
While not easy, you have demonstrated a desire to make an investment in yourself that will likely lead to meaningful and lasting transformation. Psychotherapy can offer you relief from your current symptoms but more importantly, deeper insight regarding who you are, what you need, and the patterns in your life that keep you stuck.
Thank you for considering us as part of your mental health and wellness journey. We understand that starting therapy can feel like a big step, and we’re here to make it as approachable and supportive as possible.
Therapy is a space for you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. During your first session, your therapist will focus on getting to know you. Together, you’ll talk about what’s been weighing on your mind, any goals you might have, and what brought you to therapy in the first place. It’s a collaborative process designed to meet you right where you are.
If you’re wondering, "How do I know therapy is for me?"—this is a common question, and the answer is simple. Therapy can be helpful for anyone who’s looking for support, clarity, or understanding in their life. Even if you don’t have everything figured out or aren’t sure where to begin, you don’t need to have it all sorted before reaching out.
Starting therapy is often the best way to discover what you need.
Another question we often hear is, “What if I feel nervous or unsure about opening up?” That’s completely normal! It’s your therapist’s job to create a space where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. There’s no rush, and you’re in control of what you choose to talk about.
Of course, you might also be wondering about some practical details. Here are answers to some common questions:
Do you take insurance?
No, we do not take insurance. However, we can provide you with a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance to check if they offer out-of-network benefits—this may allow you to get reimbursed. Additionally, we offer discounted rates for sessions with our experienced counselors in training, making therapy more accessible.
What do I do to prepare for the first session?
There’s no extensive preparation needed. Just bring yourself as you are. If it feels helpful, you can think about what’s been on your mind lately or jot down any questions you’d like to ask. But don’t worry—your therapist will guide the conversation and help you get started.
Prior to the first session, we will send you some online documents to complete in our secure online private portal. It typically takes less than an hour to complete.
What is the cost of therapy?
Our session fees vary depending on the therapist and your specific needs.
Standard rates: Range from $100 to $190 per 45-minute session. Most of our therapists' reserve spots for discounted therapy. Please inquire about reduced rates with individual therapists when scheduling an appointment.

How long is a session?
Sessions typically last 45-50 minutes. This time is dedicated entirely to you, offering a safe and supportive environment to explore what’s important to you.
