Why Choose Teen Therapy at Mend Center for Psychotherapy

Specialized in Complex Challenges

We work with teens facing anxiety, depression, identity questions, and relational struggles, not just surface-level issues.

Long-Term Growth

We focus on more than symptom relief, helping teens develop resilience, self-awareness, and healthier relationship patterns that last.

How We Approach Teen Therapy

Our therapists use evidence-based, relational approaches designed to help teens explore emotions, process experiences, and build healthier connections.
Psychodynamic Therapy
We explore unconscious patterns and early experiences that shape emotions and behaviors, helping teens understand the “why” behind their struggles.
We help teens recognize attachment dynamics, fostering security and improving how they relate to themselves and others.
For teens impacted by trauma or overwhelming experiences, we use EMDR and trauma-informed care to process and release distress safely.
Through emotional processing and accelerated experiential techniques, teens learn to identify, tolerate, and integrate complex emotions in a supportive space.

Why Work With Mend Center for Psychotherapy

You're not a problem to fix, but a story to understand.

At Mend Center for Psychotherapy, we believe therapy should go deeper than symptom relief. Our work is rooted in the belief that many of the challenges people face, anxiety, disconnection, trauma, burnout, stem from unspoken pain, relational wounds, and unseen patterns. These aren’t signs of weakness. They’re signs of something important needing attention.

We specialize in in-depth, relational psychotherapy that helps bring those hidden parts of the self into awareness, to help you feel more alive, more connected, and more fully yourself.

Our therapists are trained in psychodynamic, attachment-informed, and trauma-focused modalities. We work with people who’ve tried therapy before but didn’t get the depth or clarity they needed. Whether you’re facing a major transition or a quiet sense that something isn’t quite right, we help you understand your inner world so you can move through it with clarity and compassion.

Healing takes time, courage, and the right support. We’re here when you’re ready.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or repeating the same patterns, therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis to begin.
Your therapist will conduct an initial assessment to determine why you are coming to therapy, why now, and your specific goals. They will work with you to determine a specific treatment plan for your needs as well as give you the opportunity to ask any questions you have about the therapeutic process.
Your therapist will work with you to assess and determine the appropriate treatment plan for your situation. In our experience, therapy is most helpful when attended weekly for at least 3-6 months. You and your therapist will continue to reevaluate frequency based on your specific needs and goals. Each client’s individual time and resources are respected and considered when determining frequency and length of treatment.
Yes. We offer both in-person and virtual therapy options, depending on your needs and therapist availability.
Parents will work with individual therapists to determine how often a parent-only or parent-child checkin will occur. Typically this will take place every 4th or 5th session.
