Psychoanalysis
UNLOCK DEEPER SELF-KNOWLEDGE AND LASTING TRANSFORMATION.
Sometimes the patterns that shape our lives operate just outside of awareness, affecting how we think, feel, and relate. Psychoanalysis at Mend Center for Psychotherapy offers a unique opportunity to explore these unconscious forces, understand long-standing struggles, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

“Why do I keep repeating the same patterns?”
Maybe you’ve done therapy before, and yet, something still feels stuck. You wake up with a vague sense of unease, find yourself caught in the same relational dynamics, or feel haunted by guilt, inhibitions, or emotional confusion you can’t quite explain.
When unconscious patterns, old wounds, and internal conflicts shape how we relate to others and ourselves, it can feel like life is happening to us, not with us. Even your best efforts to change may fall short without understanding what’s operating beneath the surface.
At Mend Center for Psychotherapy, psychoanalysis offers a way to explore the deeper terrain of your inner world. Through this process, you can gain greater insight, emotional freedom, and the capacity for real, lasting transformation.

Who Is Psychoanalysis For?
Psychoanalysis is for those who want to understand why they feel the way they do, not just change what they feel. It’s especially helpful for individuals who:
- Have tried other forms of therapy but still feel stuck in persistent emotional or relational patterns.
- Struggle with a sense of unfulfillment, guilt, or inner conflict that’s hard to name but deeply felt.
- Repeat the same painful dynamics in relationships, work, or self-image, even with strong self-awareness.
- Crave a deeper understanding of themselves and want to explore what’s been hidden, disavowed, or unspoken.
How Psychoanalysis Can Help
At Mend Center for Psychotherapy, psychoanalysis offers a path to meaningful, lasting change, not quick fixes. By exploring the unconscious forces that shape your inner life, you can experience deeper growth, insight, and healing.
Deeper self-understanding and emotional freedom
Uncover the hidden drives, conflicts, and meanings behind your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, so you can live with more clarity and choice.
More authentic, fulfilling relationships
Understand how past relational experiences shape present dynamics, allowing you to engage more honestly and intimately with yourself and others.
Resilience through insight and integration
By facing what’s been disavowed or avoided, you build greater emotional resilience and the capacity to live with complexity, purpose, and inner alignment.

How It Works
Beginning psychoanalysis is a thoughtful and collaborative process. We’ll support you at every step as we explore whether this depth-oriented work is right for you:
Schedule a Free Consultation
Reach out through our online appointment request form or call our clinical coordinator. We’ll connect you with a psychoanalyst who can explore your goals and questions about the process.
Engage in a Consultation Period
Over the course of 4–6 initial sessions, you and your therapist will begin to explore your story, relational patterns, and what you’re hoping to understand or shift. You’ll also clarify expectations, frequency of sessions, and whether psychoanalysis feels like the right fit.
Commit to the Work of Psychoanalysis
If you both decide to move forward, you’ll begin meeting multiple times per week. Together, you’ll explore the deeper terrain of your mind, working toward lasting change through close listening, reflection, and relational insight.

Positive Outcomes of Psychoanalysis
Through this deep, insight-oriented work, many clients experience profound and lasting shifts, not just in symptoms, but in how they relate to themselves and the world:
- Live with greater emotional freedom and authenticity
- Understand and transform unconscious patterns
- Build resilience by facing internal conflict and complexity
- Develop deeper, more meaningful connections with others
Why Work With Mend Center for Psychotherapy
You're not a problem to fix, but a story to understand.
At Mend Center for Psychotherapy, we believe therapy should go deeper than symptom relief. Our work is rooted in the belief that many of the challenges people face, anxiety, disconnection, trauma, burnout, stem from unspoken pain, relational wounds, and unseen patterns. These aren’t signs of weakness. They’re signs of something important needing attention.
We specialize in in-depth, relational psychotherapy that helps bring those hidden parts of the self into awareness, to help you feel more alive, more connected, and more fully yourself.
Our therapists are trained in psychodynamic, attachment-informed, and trauma-focused modalities. We work with people who’ve tried therapy before but didn’t get the depth or clarity they needed. Whether you’re facing a major transition or a quiet sense that something isn’t quite right, we help you understand your inner world so you can move through it with clarity and compassion.
Healing takes time, courage, and the right support. We’re here when you’re ready.
