Modalities

At Mend Center For Psychotherapy, we draw from a range of evidence-based approaches to support deep, lasting change. Explore the modalities that shape how we do therapy.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Explores how past experiences and unconscious patterns shape your current thoughts, feelings, and relationships. Aims to deepen self-understanding and emotional insight.

Psychoanalysis

A more intensive process that helps uncover and work through deeply rooted relational patterns, emotional conflicts, and hidden desires for lasting transformation.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

A structured approach to healing trauma by helping the brain reprocess distressing memories. Often used for PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related symptoms.

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

Helps you identify, explore, and transform emotional responses. Often used to repair relationships and foster emotional safety, connection, and trust.

Attachment-Based Therapy

Focuses on how early relationships impact your current sense of self and ability to connect with others. Supports healing attachment wounds and building secure bonds.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

A practical approach that helps you challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviors. Often used for anxiety, depression, and other common mental health concerns.

AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy)

Combines emotion processing and relational safety to help clients heal from trauma, reconnect with core emotions, and expand their inner resilience.

Relational Therapy

Centers the therapeutic relationship as a key source of healing. Encourages authentic connection and exploration of how you show up in relationships.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Helps you identify and work with different “parts” of yourself, such as protectors or wounded inner children, to restore internal balance and healing.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Uses present-moment awareness to help reduce stress, increase self-compassion, and build healthier ways of responding to difficult emotions and thoughts.

DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)

Combines acceptance and change strategies to help manage intense emotions, build distress tolerance, and improve relationships. Especially effective for emotion dysregulation and self-destructive patterns.
